SeatSnag watches Drafthouse showings for open seats and emails you when they appear. This page explains what it keeps about you and why. The short version: your email address and the alerts you set up, used only to run the service. No ads, no tracking, and nothing is sold.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in and to send the alerts you ask for.
- What you set up: the showings you watch, how many seats you want and where, the theaters you follow for new releases, and your settings.
- When you last used SeatSnag, as a date, so an idle account can be told apart from an active one.
- A push token, if you allow notifications in the app. Apple issues it so we can send your alerts to that phone, and it is forgotten when you sign out, delete your account, or delete the app.
- Server logs, which include IP addresses, to keep the service running and to stop abuse such as someone flooding the sign-in form.
The app does not collect your location, contacts or photos, and contains no analytics or advertising code.
Who else handles it
- Resend delivers our email, so it sees your address and the messages we send you.
- Apple delivers push notifications to your phone, so it sees the alerts we send there.
- Sentry receives reports when something breaks. Cookies, request headers and form contents are removed before a report is sent.
- Our hosting provider runs the server the data is stored on.
SeatSnag reads public showtime and seat information from Drafthouse. It never sends Drafthouse anything about you. When you follow a link to buy tickets you are on Drafthouse's site, and their privacy policy applies there. SeatSnag is independent and not affiliated with Drafthouse Cinemas.
Cookies and sign-in
The website sets one cookie to keep you signed in, plus a short-lived one while you sign in. The app keeps its sign-in in your phone's secure keychain. Neither is used to track you anywhere else.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your email address, watches and settings straight away, and signs you out on every device.
Backups are the exception: daily backups are kept for 30 days, and one backup from the first of each month is kept for longer. Backups are only used to restore the service after a failure. Error reports are kept by Sentry for up to 90 days.
Your choices
- Delete your account in the app, from the Watching screen, or on the website under Settings.
- Stop any kind of email in Settings, and notifications in your phone's Settings app.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or ask anything else about it, at the address on this page once it is set.
Children
SeatSnag is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
